We have been working with the Merrion Hotel in Dublin since 2000, one of the most exclusive hotels in Ireland, The Merrion is the epitome of relaxed grandeur with stunningly appointed Georgian rooms and a host of modern facilities. The original brief of combining the Georgian elements with practical garments to create an iconic uniform collection unique to the Merrion, has not changed over that time, although we have refreshed the look three times in the past 17 years.
The uniforms take many elements from the Georgian building, interiors, and the historical garment styles of the period. Texture and colour were important factors in achieving the final effect. Fashionizer dyed fabrics two shades of air force blue-grey for Front of House outfits to reflect Wedgwood blue porcelain. A ceiling rose motif used as the Merrion logo, is the basis for a specially created print for ladies blouses, scarves, buttons and men’s ties. These original concepts and colours are still used by the Merrion staff today and 17 years on from the initial launch and the uniforms have become an integral part of the hotels branding and one that is recognised by all who visit the hotel. The Merrion staff and Fashionizer team have also forged strong personal relationships resulting in a very smooth operation with regards to all uniform matters.
“We have found in Fashionizer a creative and reliable partner for our uniform needs for the past 17 years. They are unique in their ability to understand and interpret the essence of our historic and modern property into beautiful and workable garments. The subtle way bespoke details are incorporated has meant that our Doorman and Concierge are recognised throughout Dublin and the colours blend perfectly with our interiors. Consistency and durability have meant that we can plan budgets in the knowledge that garments will last the course, we view Fashionizer as our partners in managing an effective uniform programme.”
