The Project
England and Wales’s first luxury sleeper train is a fresh take on the golden age of rail travel, offering a slower, softer way to experience this green and pleasant land.
Since its inaugural journey in July 2025, the Britannic Explorer has established itself as England and Wales’s first luxury sleeper train. Departing from London Victoria, the train offers three-night journeys through Cornwall, the Lake District, and Wales, celebrating slow luxury travel and blending British heritage with contemporary creativity.
The train’s design by Studio Albion Nord pays tribute to the golden crops, flint-tipped seas and mist-shrouded meadows rolling past outside. Wooden panelling and emerald-green corridors evoke stately homes, with stitched textiles resembling underwater algae, dried wildflowers and leaf-adorned sconces.
Fashionizer was entrusted by the Belmond project team, to create bespoke uniforms for this landmark train. The brief was to complement this unique concept, more playful than traditional sleeper trains and grounded in the gentle British countryside.
