The Project

The award winning Merrion Hotel in Dublin is one of the most exclusive hotels in Ireland, with its stunningly appointed Georgian rooms and a host of modern facilities, it is the epitome of relaxed grandeur. Fashionizer has been working with the hotel since 2000 and has refreshed the exclusive uniform concept three times during this period of collaboration.

The original client brief was to combine Georgian influences with practical considerations to create an iconic luxury uniform collection unique to The Merrion.

Fashionizer’s Solution

In its uniform design, Fashionizer was inspired by elements from the original building and interiors, as well as historical garment styles of the period. Texture and colour were important factors in achieving the final effect. Fashionizer -dyed fabrics in two bespoke shades of blue-grey for front-of-house uniforms, which echo the distinctive Wedgewood blue so popular in the Georgian era. The Merrion logo; a ceiling rose motif, is used in the specially created print for ladies’ blouses, scarves, and buttons as well as neckties.

The iconic uniforms have become an integral part of the hotel’s branding, recognised by all who visit the hotel. The Merrion Hotel staff and the Fashionizer team have forged strong personal relationships over the years, with the result that Fashionizer has become the Merrion’s longest serving supplier.
