The Merrion Hotel in Dublin is one of the most exclusive hotels in Ireland. With its stunningly appointed Georgian rooms and a host of modern facilities. When The Merrion Hotel decided to create a garden restaurant in 2016 at its elegant property in the heart of Dublin, it heralded a new fine dining experience in the capital. The restaurant uniforms were required to bring a fresh look, to the existing established image of the hotel.
The Merrion appointed Oscar nominated Irish costume designer, Consolata Boye to design the initial concepts, which were then interpreted and developed by Fashionizer into practical garments suitable for a range of luxury hospitality uniforms. In keeping with the need for stylish elegance, Fashionizer sourced traditional high-quality fabrics including pleated poplin shirting, sharkskin wool and Prince of Wales suiting for the waistcoats worn by the dining staff.
We first started working with Fashionizer 18 years ago, they were instantly in tune with the image and the style of The Merrion. Over the years they have shown they also understand our priorities and the challenges of running a growing hotel operation. Their expertise in what makes a uniform work well for a hotel brand is invaluable, and we have been able to rely on them to help control our budgets. Their knowledge of fabrics and garment construction through to the fine detail, have made the uniforms for our newest project, The Garden Room, a great success.
