New Year, new faces, new contract

What does the New Year hold for luxury hotel uniform designer manufacturer Fashionizer? And what were the highlights of 2013?

We at Fashionizer are now in full business swing after a Christmas and New Year spent catching up with friends and family at various points across the world. But one thing we noticed was that the internet doesn’t really go in for a festive break. Our MD Debbie received around 300 emails over Christmas (not many of them useful or important). Then Ebay, full of festive spirit, emailed on Boxing Day to suggest we might like to sell some of the presents that had been kindly and thoughtfully gifted on Christmas Day.

But one email that has popped into the box has got us thinking.  It came from the Global Spa and Wellness Summit who have sent the transcripts from the presentations that took place at last year’s conference in New Delhi. Tucked at the end of the email is a question: What was your defining moment of 2013?

A Defining Moment was of course the theme of the conference, and we took that as an opportunity for the Fashionizer staff to take stock of the year past.

For our new marketing intern Jackie (more on her in a later blog), the defining moment was joining Fashionizer – obviously. For Sue, our in-house journalist,  it was passing her foot health exams. “Your feet are for life, not just for Christmas,” she says.

Our MD takes a more circumspect view. “Life is not about one defining moment,” she says. “It’s about a series of continuous moments in both business and family life.” On her list from last year is the GSWS in India, Deputy PM and Business Secretary Vince Cable visiting Fashionizer, our office move, her son Josh’s mission to walk from London to Liverpool, camera in hand…

“Oh, and securing some major contracts for hotel/spa uniforms for Fashionizer, that I have spent a number of years working on.”

What?!!!  There will be plenty more blog posts to tell you about these later this year… So, lots more “defining moments” to come in 2014, then.

Happy New Year to you all.
