The Brief
Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach opened in 2014 as the brand’s long-awaited debut in the emirate. Set across 14 acres on the Arabian Gulf, the resort comprises 237 rooms and suites with 270 metres of private beach, multiple pools, a destination spa and a private beach club. Its Mediterranean architecture, with understated Arabic accents, was a deliberate counterpoint to Dubai’s more theatrical skyline; elegant and restrained rather than showy.
Fashionizer was invited to design and supply luxury staff uniforms for the resort’s opening. Our brief was to provide stylish yet practical garments for 550 staff; pieces that felt genuinely luxurious and reflected the resort’s Middle Eastern setting. As a global brand, Four Seasons recruits worldwide; the team therefore required a supplier with the expertise to design and fit bespoke uniforms that would work beautifully across a wide range of nationalities and body shapes.
Fashionizer's Uniform Solution
Designed in line with Four Seasons Dubai’s Middle Eastern environment, colour palette and local climate, Fashionizer created more than 50 different looks, 90 new styles and over 6,000 garments.
The collection includes doorman, concierge and front-of-house uniforms in cream with rich embroidery and light gold trims. Restaurant concepts developed included fine dining in classic black and purple; a Mediterranean concept where uniform tones were drawn from the interiors’ distinctive orange palette; and glamorous outfits for the rooftop nightclub.
The Outcome
The uniforms reflect the glamorous image of Four Seasons Resort Dubai whilst honouring the distinct character of each department and outlet, creating a cohesive identity across the property. The use of natural fibres, carefully selected for comfort in a hot climate, was particularly appreciated by staff. The contract also included on-site fitting and alterations for all 550 staff in Dubai. The project was completed on time and on budget.
