The Brief
Set beside Ireland’s magnificent Lakes of Killarney, within 26,000 acres of national parkland, The Europe Hotel & Resort is a five-star retreat where classic Irish elegance meets modern luxury. Fashionizer has enjoyed a long working relationship with The Europe since 2011 and is now responsible for almost all their staff uniforms.
The hotel’s philosophy of “Céad Míle Fáilte,” a thousand Irish welcomes, captures what makes this property exceptional: warmth, longevity and genuine personal connection. With many team members having served for over 30 years, the culture here is one of lasting relationships rather than transient luxury. Fashionizer’s uniform designs reflect that spirit precisely; rooted in the rugged natural beauty of Killarney, yet timeless and refined enough to honour everything that gives The Europe its heart.
Fashionizer's Uniform Solution
The Fashionizer team worked to encapsulate a traditional Irish feel in the uniforms, while remaining stylish, comfortable, and flattering to wear. The Europe’s tagline, “Luxury Relaxed,” guided the design approach throughout: uniforms needed to feel smart and refined without sacrificing the warmth and ease that define the property’s character.
The sweeping views of Killarney’s lakes and mountains, framed by 26,000 acres of national parkland, are at the heart of everything The Europe does — and that natural beauty became central to the design narrative. Fashionizer drew on the colours and textures of the surrounding landscape to create a palette that feels rooted in place, reflecting the spectacular Irish scenery while meeting the exacting standards of a five-star resort and the vision of its management and owners.
The Outcome
Guided by “Luxury Relaxed,” the uniforms balance refinement with the warmth that defines the property. Front of house staff wear tailored tartan jackets in classic brown with an understated hint of green, a contemporary lift on traditional Irish tartan. Men wear coordinating trousers and white shirts with a matching bright green tie; women wear tailored dresses with a tartan belt at the waist, pulling the look together with panache.
Housekeeping tunics and trousers echo the same brown palette, with contrast piping at the arms and neckline. Brasserie staff wear an exclusive botanical print with colours derived from the restaurant itself, a quietly distinctive detail that connects the wearer to the extraordinary environment just beyond the window.
For Riva, the resort’s light-filled Mediterranean restaurant, the palette shifts to crisp blue and white with bright accent ties, clean and unfussy, echoing both the Italian spirit of the kitchen and the breathtaking lakeside setting beyond the glass. The final touches include traditional cream waistcoats in the bar area.
