Fashionizer / The Ned, London

The Ned, London

corporate uniforms

The Project

The Ned Hotel, which opened in 2017 in the City of London, is a joint venture between Soho House Group and US hospitality company Sydell Group and was among London’s most anticipated openings of recent years. One of the capital’s largest hotels, its 250 rooms, nine bars and restaurants are all accommodated within the transformed historic Midland Bank building, originally designed in the 1920s by Sir Edward Lutyens. This large project involved providing uniforms for over five hundred staff.

Fashionizer’s Solution

Fashionizer’s brief for The Ned Hotel was to evoke the glamour of the building’s refurbished art deco splendour, while signifying the hotel’s identity as a modern, stylish, urban destination.

The high-end uniforms include black dresses for the waiting staff across the restaurant floor incorporating a subtle flash of green in the front pleat, which echoes the stunning dark green verdite columns of the building. The staff in the basement bar, housed in the former bank vault, wear city-inspired blue pinstripe shirts and burgundy waistcoats, while those in the more informal rooftop bar are dressed in one of the most innovative elements of the project cardigans with a contemporary pattern. In order to deliver the premium luxury staff uniforms, Fashionizer sourced and developed specialist fabrics from premium UK and European suppliers.
